Symptoms For Ovarian Cancer

So…..is it possible that I am still pregnant? or have ovarian cysts?

Question by J M: So…..is it possible that I am still pregnant? or have ovarian cysts?
I think that I may either be pregnant or have ovarian cysts because I have all these pregnancy-like symptoms. (period that showed up 2 weeks late that was shorter than normal, fatique, lightheadedness, metal taste in mouth, sensations in my abdomen (I think they are either round ligament pains if I am pregnant or they could be ovarian cysts if I am not pregnant.)

I’ve had a negative pee test, negative blood test, but for some reason when I had other things checked just in case, they told me that one of my liver enzymes, alkaline phosphatase, is slightly elevated and the medical center who ordered the blood tests for me are now asking if they can test me for mono…which is completely ludicrous! Because the only symptoms that I have for mono is lightheadedness, fatigue, and weightloss (I lost 15 lbs, but quickly gained back 5lbs). No fever, no sore throat, no headaches, no loss of appetite (I am a BIG eater!), no rash, etc…)

I’m going to get tested for mono elsewhere, but I’m going to get a second opinion as well because when I asked the first medical center about the possibility of ovarian cysts, they completely disregarded everything that I brought up to them,

Have any of you had negative pregnancy (both blood and urine) tests and then found out later you were really pregnant?
Just so you know…my periods have always been regular….and the most I’ve ever been late was 1 or 2 days. I was 15 days late.

Holly, you’re right…I’m probably gay.

Thanks for the info, Lize.

Twisted ninjette: rashes are always listed as a symptom for mono. But I don’t have any rashes…but I guess it is still possible to have it. Rashes or no Rash.

My boyfriend doesn’t have mono…and neither do my roommates….or anybody else I know. Last time I knew of anybody who has mono was in high school. Which was about 8 years ago.

how long does it take to develop ectopic pregnancy symptoms? ?

Question by ????: how long does it take to develop ectopic pregnancy symptoms? ?
I am about 5 weeks pregnant and I was wondering how long it takes to develop ectopic pregnancy symptoms…I have shoulder and neck pain (muscular) cramping, achy belly and occassional ovarian pain like a shooting pain…similar to when I have cysts…Does this sound bad or like a normal pregnancy? I have no fever and no bleeding. I am going to the doctor tomorrow, but wondered if I should go to ER.

Q&A: Does this sound like a symptom of ovarian cancer to you?

Question by : Does this sound like a symptom of ovarian cancer to you?
My Mum is 57 years old and her maternal grandmother had ovarian cancer. She hasn’t actually gained weight around her abdominal area (i.e. there is no increase on the scales), and she says that she doesn’t feel bloated. HOWEVER – she says as though she “feels” as though she’s put on weight around her stomach / abdomen.. even though she hasn’t actually gained weight!

Any thoughts / comments? Does this sound like ovarian cancer to you?

Any advice would be very appreciated!

Thank you!

Answer by John
Your Mum’s doctor should be the first person to ask; given the familial link it would be advisable to check though unlikely.

Please see the link which gives a list of things to look out for such as constant rather than fluctuating health issues.

Could be something like bacterial vaginosis (pretty common) – get it checked out by a gyno asap.

what symptoms are associated with an ovarian cyst?

Question by momma-to-morgan: what symptoms are associated with an ovarian cyst?
and are you less likely to get them when being on the pill for 4 years?

Best answer:

Answer by lilpixie527
You should not get cysts when on the pill. I am on the pill to stop my cysts but having a cyst will cause pelvic pain. If one ruptures it will be a very sharp pain depending on the size. the one I had was 5cm and I ended up in the emergancy room throwing up bile.
